General Care
- Store jewelry in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid dropping or bending your jewelry, as handmade pieces can be more delicate than mass-produced accessories.
- Remove jewelry before sleeping, exercising, or participating in activities that may cause excessive pulling or impact.
Water & Moisture
While many of the materials we use can tolerate occasional contact with water, we recommend removing your jewelry before:
- Swimming (chlorine or salt water)
- Bathing or showering
- Hot tubs or saunas
Excessive moisture can shorten the life of certain finishes, adhesives, and metal components.
Lotions, Perfumes & Chemicals
Apply perfumes, lotions, hair products, and sunscreen before putting on your jewelry. These products can dull finishes, discolor metals, and reduce the shine of crystals and beads over time.
Polymer Clay Jewelry
Polymer clay is lightweight yet durable, but it is not unbreakable.
- Avoid bending or twisting clay pieces.
- Store flat or hanging to prevent pressure on delicate components.
- Clean gently with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth if needed.
Beads & Crystals
Glass, crystal, and decorative beads should be handled with care.
- Avoid striking them against hard surfaces.
- Wipe clean with a soft cloth.
- Specialty coatings and metallic finishes may naturally wear over time with frequent exposure to water or chemicals.
Copper Wire Jewelry
Copper naturally develops a rich patina over time. This is a normal characteristic of genuine copper.
- To maintain a brighter finish, gently polish with a jewelry polishing cloth.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, chlorine, and household cleaners.
Metal Components
Charms, connector beads, clasps, and findings may naturally tarnish with wear.
To extend their life:
- Store jewelry in a sealed jewelry bag or box.
