TIR’s Take on Missing You

Having seen all the hype around Missing You, calling it a must-watch, I bumped it to the top of my Netflix queue. However, after finishing it, I was underwhelmed. While it had moments of intrigue, the series failed to fully deliver on its promise of a gripping thriller.

Rushed and Forced Resolutions

The biggest issue with Missing You might have been its pacing. The suspense and build-up throughout the series created anticipation for a jaw-dropping conclusion, but the answers were rushed and forced. Instead of a satisfying twist, the resolution left me with more questions than answers—and not in a good way.

Flat Moments and Jarring Action

Certain parts of the story felt flat, lacking the emotional depth or complexity needed to connect with the audience. Meanwhile, moments of action and tension, while exciting, often felt out of place and unsupported by the narrative. This uneven pacing made it hard to stay fully immersed in the story.

Overall Impression

While Missing You had its moments, it ultimately fell short of the high expectations set by the hype surrounding the show.

Should You Watch Missing You?

If you’re a fan of Harlan Coben’s adaptations, you may still find Missing You worth checking out. However, if you’re looking for a tightly woven thriller with a compelling payoff, this might not be the series for you.

TIR Rating: 5/10

Despite its potential, Missing You doesn’t live up to the hype and what I’d heard was the standard of some of Coben’s other adaptations. It’s an okay watch, but it won’t leave a lasting impression.
