Apple TV’s Constellation – TIR Recommends

Constellation is an 8 episode Sci-fi  Psychological Thriller series on Apple TV plus starring Noomi Rapace.  Rapace plays an astronaut Joanna “Jo”, who returns to Earth following an accident in space.  Jo is not experiencing Earth and those around her in a way that is familiar.  The show attempts to reveal the truth of the accident and Jo’s inconsistent memories of the accident and Earth as she remembers.

If you enjoy space trillers you might want to add Constellation to your watch list; however, I’m afraid it was incredibly slow paced and poorly outlined.  There are lots of great plot points that did not quite come together quickly enough if it ever came together at all.  The show is given from more than one point of view as well as what appears to be the story from the POV of another dimension.  The dimensional aspect of the show was under-done and did not have the impact I would have expected.  It added to the overall feel of the series, which was “what is the point?”.

There is potential for season 2 to clean up and pull this show together but I would not be surprised if it was not approved due to season 1 being as poorly executed as it was. I’d give it a 4/10 overall only because the series had the elements to be really good.  Have you seen Constellation?  What was your experience?
