We tend to think of light and love and darkness and hate as concepts to apply outward. We think about being kind to others and loving others far more than we focus on applying them to ourselves. Wishing that you could be more confident will not just happen when you are living in hate by only speaking negative things about yourself. There is a difference between having things you want to improve and constantly attacking your own appearance. Take account of how many times you lack loving yourself or the live in darkness by not nurturing yourself.
