We commonly associate learning with teaching and teachers. It’s usually the first thing we assume when we want to learn new things, we should take a class or sit in a lecture or find someone to show us how. Self study has longer lasting effects on most topics but is most important for spirituality. Absorbing the complete teachings from someone can only give you their perspective on a topic and if you take a lesson of the same topic from another person the message may be slightly different. Read and interpret on your own and process your own perception. Furthermore, analyze the thoughts and feelings you already have within.
